Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-05-12
Pawdoro is a mobile-first wellbeing companion for your cat. We built it for cat owners who care about their cat and their privacy. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we don't, and what choices you have.
Who we are
Pawdoro is built and operated by Paul Gascoigne, based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us any time at gascoigne.paul.william@gmail.com.
What data we collect
Data you enter
Your cats' names, birthdays, breeds, coat colours, indoor/outdoor status, reminders, mood entries, weight entries, energy entries, notes, and activity log. All of this stays in your browser's local storage on your device. None of it is sent to a Pawdoro server. There is no Pawdoro account, no login, and no cloud sync.
Anonymous analytics
We use PostHog (EU region) to understand which parts of the app are useful and which aren't. The setup is locked to:
- Anonymous device id only. A random id stored on your device. No email, no name, no auth.
- No cookies. Storage uses local storage.
- No auto-capture. Every event is hand-instrumented from a short allow-list (tab views, onboarding steps, reminders accepted, share clicks).
- No session recording. No screen recording, no replay.
- PII scrub on the client. Properties like cat name, weight, breed, birthday and notes are dropped before they leave your device, even if a developer adds them by accident.
- EU residency. Events are sent to PostHog's EU cloud at eu.i.posthog.com.
Analytics are disabled in development builds and disabled if the analytics key is not configured.
Feedback you send us
If you open the feedback form from Settings, you'll land on a Google Form. Anything you type into that form goes to a Google Sheet we read. We only see what you choose to submit. The app version and submission date are pre-filled so we can debug issues.
What we don't collect
- No name, email or phone number.
- No location data.
- No advertising identifiers.
- No biometric or health data beyond what you log about your cat.
- No data is sold or shared with advertisers.
Where data is stored
Cat data lives in your device's local storage. Clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app, deletes it. There is no copy on a Pawdoro server because there is no Pawdoro server for this data.
Analytics events live in PostHog's EU cloud. Feedback submissions live in Google's infrastructure under Paul's account.
Third parties
- PostHog (EU cloud): anonymous product analytics. posthog.com/privacy
- Google Forms / Sheets: only used if you choose to send feedback. policies.google.com/privacy
- Vercel: hosts pawdoro.io and pawdoro.vercel.app. Standard server logs apply. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA, or similar laws. These include the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing.
Because cat data never leaves your device, the simplest path is to clear the app's storage (Settings, or your browser's site data tool). To request deletion of analytics events tied to your anonymous device id, email us at gascoigne.paul.william@gmail.com with the device id from Settings.
Children
Pawdoro is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and want their data removed, email us.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be flagged inside the app on next open.
